game 1 - Derby B

fairly cold start to the morning with barely anytime to warm up the boys played Derby B team. with a few good saves from David Spooner the boys were unlucky to loose 3-0 to a team that had already warmed and organised well. a few unlcuky chances from Travis and Steven left us with a 3 goal defecit.

game 2 - South Leicster B

• The boys played their absolute socks off in this game, however were unlcuky to be faced by a team of whom had barely any special needs players. the match was very unfair with leicster fielding a few boys who could have quite easily been close to county standards. the boys never stood a chance from the beginning and took a bad defeat 8-0. However the lads refused to give up and carried on playing right up until the whistle. overall the boys didnt deserve to play against lads of such a high standard and get a defeat like that.

game 3 - Derby C

After taking a good beating to the South Leicster team the boys was not looking forwards to the next game. some lads did not want to go on the pitch due to the humiliation they had just faced. After some convincing the lads went on and after pinching a early goal their heads was once again raised and eady to put up a good battle. A few minutes after scoring the first goal derby brought a goal back. Undeterred the boys carried on to play the football they are capable of. all the boys came close to scoring goal Travis managed to get his hatrick. however unhappy with this went on to get another. steven also managed to score a cracking goal late on in the game. Stefan, who had been so disheartened from the first also managed to raise his spirits by scoring to brilliant goals. The result finished 7-3 and was a great boost from the previous game.

Game 4 - loughborough

Loughborough was a very well even matched to our team. for most of the match the lads held on with good chances being narrowly missed at either ends. some cracking saves from David kept us in the match. With a near miss from Travis the Loughborough team ran the ball up the pitch in the last few moments of the match to score the winning goal. the boys were very unlucky to loose this match and played excellent.

Game 5 - Moulton college

The last game of the tournament and the boys were freezing this point. with spirits low from a few previous unlucky defeats and a injured James the team went on the give one last effort. The Moulton College had one key player who seemed to dominate the match for them. however the boys put up a resiliant fight against them and gave them a good contest. The boys let in a early goal and let their heads drop a little. James battled on and came as a subsitute to try and resolve the score. in the last few minuted Moulton College scored another couple of gaol to make the score 3-0.


overall the lads had a great learning experience and was very unlucky to loose to some of the teams that we played. The boys had a great experience. The man of the torunament had to be Travis who put in a fantastic performance in every single match. Well played lads!!!

Organisational theories
Frederick Taylor (1917) developed scientific management theory (often called “Taylorism”) at the beginning of this century. His theory had four basic principles: 1) find the one “best way” to perform each task, 2) carefully match each worker to each task, 3) closely supervise workers, and use reward and punishment as motivators, and 4) the task of management is planning and control. Although Fredricks theory of getting the best equipment and the best people for the job proved successful nearly a hundred years ago it has shown not to be successful in the modern society.  Lawrence and Lorsch (1969) studied how organizations adjusted to fit their environment. In highly volatile industries, they noted the importance of giving managers at all levels the authority to make decisions over their domain. Managers would be free to make decisions contingent on the current situation.
Chesterfield  College uses a co-coordinated organisational model whereby a cross functional teams sites centralized positions and various nodes such as business units, product teams or geographies be successful through training , education and support. This means that the central circle is aware of what each of the nodes are doing and provides a holistic experience to customers with centralized resources. However there are drawbacks to this model can be very costly.

What can go wrong within the organisation

there are many things that could go wrong within a college however normally they have a good enough structure set up to be able to avoid these situations. Although good structures are set in palce to try and avoid any moajor disasters occurring things still go wrong.  Communication can often be a major factor to why something could go wrong. For example when taking the lads to a football tournament if we don’t communicate properly and get the correct metting place with the correct time we may be left without players.

Registers are also take within acolege from a fire safety point of view. If the fire alarm sounds teachers needs to be able to tell you who is in the college and if somebody has not come out of the building. Therefore if a teacher does not take a register then and there is a fire in the worst case scenario a student could havew been trapped behind and still been left within trhe building witohut anybody even knowing they are in there.

Another thing that can go wrong within a college is funding. A lot of people pay for their places at college. However with there being a recession not everybody has the spare income to be ale to pay for a college course. Without this extra money coming in the college may not be able to afford to keep runnig certain courses. The college already hires certain facilities out at night like the gym however through the lack of people going in the gym and the cost of equipment needing renewing this is not very profitable for college. As a result the clowne campuses is having to be sold as the college can not afford to keep maintaining the sight and studnets will be moved back over to chesterfield’s main campus.

By improving the quality of the air within college may increase productivity from staff and students. Therefore by providing a good airflow in chesterfield college may increase productivity, this will especially apply in the summer when student become aggitated from being too hot. Also in the sports department when participating in sport inside students want to be able to be comfortable by not having a good supply of cold oxygen from a air condintioning system.  Studies have been performed to see how work places can improve their business, another way that they found was that colour had a effect on people. For example if a room was painted black and had very little light coming in this going to create a feeling a sadness and depression. Whereby if there are bright colours this creates a feeling of happiness.  The most infamous study on how color can have a positive effect on one’s psyche is the pink prison experiment from the late 1970s (Schauss, 1979). By painting the prisons in pinkschauss found that in-mates  showed less progression therefore showing colour producing a calming effect.  To support this findinng in 1985 Brill found that Workers in the red office reported higher negative mood characteristics compared with workers in the blue-green office.  Within chesterfield college most of the room are of neutral colours, by possibly adding a little more colour may improve moral, possibly avoiding outburts from students or even improve work rate. Within the gyms more colour could be added to possibly make people who don’t normally participate in sport to actually take part.

This is the section where the college will identify the threats that would harm the college’s current growth or status.

P.E.S.T Analysis

PESTLE stands for political, economical, sociological and technological. Political factors can have a direct impact on the way business operates. Decisions made by government affect the operations of units within the college to a varying degree. It is crucial to describe the subject for the PEST analysis  clearly so that people, contributing to the analysis, and those interpreting the results from PEST analysis, could understand the purpose of the PEST assessment and its implications (Jan, 2002). All businesses are affected by economical factors nationally and globally. Whether an economy is in a boom, recession or recovery will also affect consumer confidence and behaviour. Social factors will include the demographic changes, trends in the way people live, work and think and cultural aspects of the macro environment. New approaches to doing new and old things, and tackling new and old problems do not necessarily involve technical factors, however, technological factors are vital for competitive advantage, and are a major driver of change and efficiency.

Introduction
For my work related learning I am working with Chesterfield College whereby I am coaching teenagers with learning difficulties to play football. I am attending every Wednesday when they have training and helping teach skills and improve fitness with Stefan Fusenich. After the training session has finished I also help out in the office by filling in risk- assessments so that the lads can be taken to football tournament. Plus with some of the lads having a physical disabilities as well as learning difficulties I also have to make sure a confer with teachers that the exercises I want to do with them are suitable for everyone making sure everybody is included.

Aims & goals
An aim refers to what a business wants to achieve in the future, it is a statement of purpose. Chesterfield College aims to offer you the best possible service and therefore will seek to treat you fairly, efficiently and in accordance with published arrangements. I've created a speerate aim for project witin the college that i am doing. The aim of this project is to give everybody nobody what their ability a chance to participate in sport and increase opportunity to take part.

Mission statement
A mission statement is a statement that defines the essence or purpose of a organisation. A mission statement is also designed to ensure that all stakeholders are clear on the overarching purpose of the company so everyone can be focused on the same goals and objectives. When someone reads a mission statement in a business plan they are looking to get a feel for the range of activities that the company will focus on, in other words its core purpose and what it stands for (www.bplans.co.uk). The mission statement for Chesterfield Collge is Equipping you with the skills and knowledge for progression and employment. However this mission statementy is general to the whole of the college and I have created my own mission statement for the football project that I am doing within the sports department. The mission statement I have chosen is to provide a safe place for teenagers of all abilities to participate in football without the feeling of being inferior.
